Why does Kongregate say my email is invalid?
Are you trying to report a bug or missing achievement, only to get an error indicating your email address is invalid?
This error usually happens when users request that Kongregate not send you any more emails. This is usually done by clicking on a link in the Newsletter asking for this (to no longer send email to your address). Because Kongregate can't send an email to the address, it gives the "invalid" error and doesn't let you submit your bug report or missing badge report.
To fix this you have two options:
- You can change the email address linked to your Kongregate account to one that you have not asked Kongregate to not send emails to. You can do this by going to your account settings and to email settings.
- You can email support@kongregatesupport.zendesk.com asking us to remove the block on your email (please send the email from the email account that is linked to your Kongregate account.) We can make sure the emails do reach your account and remove any bounces or blocks the system may have in place.
Other reasons for Invalid Email Issue (not related to unsubscribing)
If you use Hotmail, Live, MSN, Outlook, or Mail, you may be experiencing this issue.
If the email invalid issue is tied to your email provider itself, we will not be able to remove that block, and you will need to change your email provider to something else. We have seen issues with Hotmail, Outlook, Live, MSN, and "mail" providers blocking our emails and not allowing our emails to reach your account therefore causing the Invalid issue. You will need to get a different email address from a different email provider such as Gmail or Yahoo (we recommend those providers) and update your account to your new email. Then you should be able to file tickets again. You can always write to support@kongregatesupport.zendesk.com at any time from any email.
