We are currently in the process of pruning inactive accounts from our servers for data security reasons. As a courtesy to account owners, we are banning these inactive accounts for 30 days prior to deleting them to provide a recovery opportunity before they are permanently lost.
How do I recover my banned account?
If your account is banned for inactivity, please open a ticket with Support from the email on file for the account, and someone will work with you to reverse your ban.
Why wasn’t I given notice about my account being scheduled for deletion?
Why was I told my account was banned for inappropriate conduct?
What is considered inactivity?
Kongregate.com’s Privacy Policy was updated in 2022 to define inactivity as an account not registering a login event in three years or longer. To proactively avoid this, sign out and then sign back into your account.
Why are accounts being deleted for inactivity?
We have millions of inactive accounts on our server. To remain diligent as a responsible data handler, we are working to reduce the amount of total data we are storing inline with our Privacy Policy.
Why was I flagged for inactivity when I was just playing a game yesterday?
Our system may have accidentally flagged you as inactive if you primarily play Kongregate games, such as Animation Throwdown or Bit Heroes Quest, via Steam or a mobile device. These games only trigger login events when your account is initially linked to the device. Simply opening the game and playing does not register a login with Kongregate.com's servers.
How do I recover my deleted account?
If it has been more than 30 days since your account was banned for inactivity, your account has been permanently deleted. We are very sorry, but we can not offer anyway to recover deleted accounts since all associated data has been completely removed from our servers.
